মধ্য কাৰূপ মহাবিদযালয়ৰ িন্মলগ্নপে আধ্ুবক ভাৰেীয় ভাাসমূহৰ বভেে অনযেম ভাষ 'অসমীয়া' আমাৰ মহাবিদ্যায়ৰ িাধ্যোূলক বিষয় বহাপপ অ􀐾ভভুকত কৰা হয়।আৰ্ববি কালপৰ ৰা গুৱাহাটী বিশ্ববিদ্যলয়ৰ অ􀐾গুে প্ৰাক্ বিশ্বিদ্যালয়ৰ চিী আৰু স্নাক চেিীে সাধাৰি পাঠ্যক্ৰম / িাধ্যোূলক অসমীয়া , ঐজিক অসমীয়া বহোপপ েবল থকাৰ উপবৰ স্নােক চেিীে প্ৰধ্ান / সন্মন পাঠ্যক্ৰপমা স যুক্ত কা হহবিল। অৱযয , বকিভ িিৰ গুৱাহাটী বিশ্ববিদ্যালৰ স্বীকৃবে বিহপন অসমীয়া বিভাগৰ পাঠ্দ্ান প্ৰজকৰয়া েবল আবি।Year 1979-80 Letter No AFF/88/80/897 Dt 12-9-80 EC Resolution No 188/10/80(45) Dt. 3/7/80 পমু গুৱাহাী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ দ্বাৰ আমাৰ অসমীয় বিভাগপটাক ্ৰথমিাৰৰ িপি অনুপমাদ্ন িপনাৱা হয়। আপপকেৌ ,2007-08 Vide Letter No GU/AFF/207/5677-80 Dt.18/8/2007 EC Resolution No 2007/11/263(15) Dt. 18/8/2007 মমু সাধ্াৰি াঠ্যক্ৰমে স্তায়ী (Permanent) সবীকৃবে প্ৰ্ান কপৰ আৰু Major Course ৰ কাৰপি Temporary Affiliation িেুই ৰাবিপি িা Major Course অস্তায়ভাপৱ েলাই থাৰ অনুমবে ব্পি।

মহাবিদ্ালয়ৰ প্ৰথম ষুপে েীধ্ীৰন্দ্ৰ োলুকদ্াৰ ডাঙৰীাই এই বিভাগ প্ৰথম প্ৰি্তা বহোপপ ৯৭১ েনৰ ১২ আগ􀑭 োবৰপি চাগদ্ান কবৰ িভাগপটাৰ শুভ আৰম্ববি কপৰ। ১৯৭১ েনৰ ৰা প্ৰিক্তা বহোপপ মহাবিদ্যালয়িনৰ সমীয়া বিভাপটাে চসৱা আিঢ়াই চেওঁ ২ - ০৮ - েনে বিদ্ায় ১৯৭৩িভব্ন েনে মন্ম হিযয ডাঙৰীাই বদ্বেীয়ন প্ৰিক্তা হোপপ চযাগদ্ান কবৰ বিভাগে বক১৯৭২ লয়। েনে প্ৰিক্তা বহোপপ চযাগদ্ান কবৰ ১৯৭৩ চসৱা আগিঢ়ায়। এই অঞ্চলৰ সৰিৰহী যুৱক চগাপী দ্াপস চসই িিৰপে বিদ্ায় লয়। পনদ্পৰ চকিঃািপনা প্ৰিকতাই েমু সময় িাপি চযাগদান কবৰ বিভাপটাক আগুৱা হল যায়।

১৯৭৩ নৰ ৭ বডপে􀑗ৰ োবৰপি েীফবধ্ৰ অবধ্কাী ডাঙৰীয়াই সমীয়া বিভাগে প্ৰিক্তা বহোপপ চযাগদান কপৰ। অবধকাৰী মহাযপ চেওঁৰ বিযা িযজক্তত্বৰ িবৰয়পে বিভাগপটাৰ গুবৰ ধ্বৰ সম্পূিু ৩৮ িিৰ চসৱা গিঢ়াই ৩১-০৭ - োবৰপি অৱসৰ লয়। চেপিপে ০১১ 'িৰপপটা িলাৰ িনসমাে সত্ৰৰ প্ৰাি' যীষুক বিয়ে গপিষিা কৰ ২০০৫ েনে ডক্টপৰট বডগ্ী লাভ কবৰ আমাৰ মহাবিদ্যলয় েথা অসমীা বিভাগৰ চিৌজিক পবৰপৱ উন্তে কৰাে বৰহিা চযাগয়। পৰৱেী সমে চেওঁৰ 'িৰপটা জিলাৰ িনানসে সত্ৰৰ ্ৰভাি' (িুন, ০১০ ) গ্র􀐿ি প্ৰকায চহাাৰ উপবৰ বিবন্ত আপলােনীে সাবহেয স সকৃবেৰ বভন্তসুৰীয়া গপিষাধ্মী ৰেনা ্ৰকায হহপি

34. Teaching methods adopted to improve student learning: Department of Assamese generally adopts the lecture method in the classroom. Concept of various terms are explained with the help of practical example.

Various problems like irregularity in attendance, securing low marks in the examination are discussed with the parents and tries to find out solution of the problem.

Strength:

• Classes are held regularly in the department. Every teacher sincerely goes to the class and finishes the course in due time.
• Students are encouraged to participate in various competitions.
• Organisation of departmental seminar, home assignment, group discussions are part of academic activity.
• Monitoring of the student is done individually.

Weakness:

• In-spite of completing the course in due time the results of the students are not up to the expectation.
• ICT enabled teaching learning has become more effective in the teaching learning method. But the department is yet to get this facility.

Opportunity:

• Students are coming from interior rural areas.
• Admission on merit basis.
• PG and self financing courses are proposed to motivate the students for self generation.
• Increase participation of students and teachers in national and international seminars, workshops, conferences etc.

Challenges:

• If the department does not get proper infrastructure then the good students can move to neighboring college.
• Competitive ability may decline if students do not get proper facilities.

Following are the future measure planned to be undertaken by the department:

• Students will be offered need based study materials in a systematic and easy way so that they can understand it easily.
• To solve the course related problem of the student through special classes for the loss due to their absence in the classes.
• Every teacher will personally contact the students to know their problem and take necessary steps to help them in overcoming it.
• The evaluation process like seminar, home assignment, project work etc will be strictly maintained.
• Department plans to organize guest lecture by inviting some reputed faculty from other institution.
